At Crystade, we’re committed to simplifying monitoring and reliability engineering. Today we’re excited to announce three new free tools designed to save you time and eliminate common mistakes in your daily workflow: a Cron Expression Builder, an SLA Downtime Calculator, and a Curl Command Generator. Each tool is available now and complements our existing cron job monitoring, uptime checks, and incident management features.
Cron Expression Builder
Cron expressions are powerful but notoriously tricky to write correctly. Between five fields, special characters, and timezone quirks, it’s easy to introduce a schedule that runs at the wrong time—or not at all. Our Cron Expression Builder takes the guesswork out of scheduling.
With this tool, you can:
Build expressions interactively by selecting minutes, hours, days, months, and weekdays.
Explain any cron expression in plain English to understand exactly what it does.
Preview the next several run times instantly, including support for multiple timezones.
Whether you’re scheduling backups, report generation, or data syncs, this tool ensures your cron jobs fire exactly when intended. It pairs perfectly with Crystade’s Cron Job Monitoring, which tracks your scheduled tasks and alerts you when they fail or don’t run on time.

SLA Downtime Calculator
Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are often expressed as percentages like 99.9% or 99.99%, but translating those numbers into actual allowed downtime—minutes, hours, or days—can be confusing. Our SLA Downtime Calculator makes this conversion effortless.
Key features:
Convert SLA percentage to allowed downtime for a day, month, or year.
Convert actual outage duration to an availability percentage, so you know where you stand.
Support for common targets from 99.9% (three nines) up to 99.999% (five nines).
For example, 99.9% uptime means about 43 minutes of allowable downtime per month. Understanding this helps you set realistic SLOs and configure your monitoring alerts appropriately. Use it alongside Crystade’s uptime monitoring and incident management to track your actual availability and respond to incidents before they breach your SLA.

Curl Command Generator
Writing curl commands by hand often involves remembering dozens of flags, escaping quotes, and formatting JSON bodies correctly. A single misplaced character can ruin a test. Our Curl Command Generator eliminates that pain.
Simply fill in:
HTTP method (GET, POST, PUT, etc.)
URL
Headers
Query parameters
Authentication options (Basic, Bearer, custom)
Request body
The tool instantly generates a ready-to-run curl command that you can copy with one click. No more manual flag assembly. Test API endpoints, verify responses, and debug integrations faster. It’s also a great companion when setting up Crystade’s HTTP monitoring—quickly validate an endpoint before configuring a monitor.

Why These Tools Matter
All three tools address common friction points in development and operations:
Cron expressions prevent scheduling mistakes before they affect production.
SLA calculations turn abstract percentages into concrete downtime budgets.
Curl generation speeds up API testing and debugging.
And because Crystade is a unified platform for cron job monitoring, health checks (HTTP, TCP, TLS, HTTPS), incident management, and status pages, these tools fit naturally into your reliability workflow. After you’ve built the perfect cron expression or validated an API with curl, you can set up corresponding monitors and alerts in Crystade with just a few clicks.
Try Them Today
All three tools are free to use and available now on the Crystade website. If you’re already a Crystade user, they’re an excellent supplement to your existing monitoring setup. If you’re new, they’re a great way to see the kind of practical, developer-focused thinking that powers our platform.
