What’s New at Crystade: Smarter Monitoring Setup, Clearer UIs, and More

We’re constantly refining Crystade to make monitoring and scheduled jobs less of a chore and more of a reliable part of your workflow. This update focuses on reducing setup friction, improving visual clarity, and making it easier to understand and act on your monitoring data.

If you’re not yet using Crystade, it’s a SaaS platform that unifies cron job scheduling, uptime monitoring, incident management, and status pages — all under a team-scoped resource model with subscription-based billing. Let’s dive into what’s new.

Smoother creation with multi-step forms

Setting up a new monitor or cron job used to be a single long form. Now, both cron job creation and monitor creation use a multi-step form.

Why this matters:

• Less cognitive load — you focus on one section at a time (protocol, target, options).

• Fewer mistakes — validation happens per step, so you catch issues early.

• Cleaner onboarding — new team members can follow a guided flow instead of decoding a wall of fields.

This is especially helpful for monitors that support multiple protocols. The step-by-step approach makes it obvious which options apply to your chosen protocol.

Refined monitoring UI

We’ve also polished the monitor creation form itself to make it more intuitive and visually clear. Two specific improvements:

• Country flags in the location picker

• Refined buttons and inputs

For HTTP monitors, we now set the default redirect-follow limit to 3. Previously it was zero. This is a sensible default for most APIs and web services.

Prefilled Minecraft protocol versions

When you set up a Minecraft monitor in Crystade, the protocol version field comes prefilled with known versions — names and corresponding numbers. You no longer need to search external lists or risk entering an invalid value.

Built-in guides for monitoring assertions

We’ve added in-context guides directly in the assertion editor:

• A short video that walks through a typical assertion setup.

• An animated diagram that visualizes how an assertion runs against check logs and when it triggers an incident.

No more guessing. You can now learn the concept right where you need it — inside the editor.

Emoji picker for incident responses

Incident communication should be clear, but a little personality doesn’t hurt. The incident response editor now includes an emoji picker, so you can add visual context to status updates.

For example:

• 🚨 Investigating elevated error rates

• ✅ Mitigation deployed, monitoring recovery

• 📉 Partial outage affecting EU region
